This unique alchemical tincture combines the medicine of Melissa with the spirit of the honeybees to create a strongly uplifting and beautiful medicine.

The Melissa or Lemon Balm was harvested fresh from our garden and then extracted with a Honey Spirit made from our own bees. Honey Spirit is made by distilling mead to get a high potency alcohol essentially made from honey. The mead that was distilled was our traditional honeycomb mead which uses whole combs from the hive. As such it contains all the natural aromas and medicines of the hive, and is truly a “spirit of the hive.”

This tincture is also a “spagyric,” which is an alchemical preparation or medicine of plants as opposed to a normal herbal tincture. This process involves the burning of the plant material to extract the salts of the plant also known as the body of the plant in the alchemical tradition. Once these salts are in their purified form they are added back into the tincture. For this particular medicine we had the tincture sit within one of our hives after the addition of the salts to receive the vibrational medicine of the bees!
